Notes

Your cooperation with regards to the following is greatly appreciated.

When an installation technician performs on-site service commencement work

An NTT West installation technician will come to your location on the day requested for service to begin. The technician will need to test the modular jacks, so please ensure that you have all telecommunications equipment ready, and are present when the technician arrives.

If, after installation is complete, you have any problems or issues with your line, please phone us at 113.

Notes on using FLET'S ADSL

  1. This service is provided on a best effort basis and there is no guarantee that the transmission speed will be constant.
  2. Please note that the maximum transmission speed (MORE SPECIAL: Max. 44-47 Mbps, MORE 40: Max. 40 Mbps, MORE 24: Max. 24 Mbps, MORE: Max. 12 Mbps, 8M Plan: Max. 8 Mbps, or 1.5M Plan: Max. 1.5 Mbps) may not be available, the transmission speed may fluctuate, or communications may be impossible due to factors such as the distance to the ADSL section, condition of the equipment, interference from communication lines, and interference from communication equipment (e.g. ACR) connected in your residence.
  3. If you subscribed to FLET'S ADSL, the transmission speed may be lower than the maximum due to the condition of the ADSL section. However, please note that even in that case the monthly usage charge will not be reduced.
After the start of use (new, change, or relocation), if communication becomes impossible (link cannot be established) within 20 days from the day following the day service started, contact NTT West within that period. If NTT West is able to verify the existence of the problem and you desire to cancel, change, or transfer the service, the usage charges (installation fees and usage charges) for FLET'S ADSL will not apply for the period that a link could not be established.
  4. We can carry out modifications to the line such as switching the cable, removing a bridge tap, and replacing the protector at your request. However, please note that we do not guarantee that making modifications to the line will improve the transmission speed.
  5. Please note that even in an area in which the service is provided you may have to wait to use the service or the service may not be available depending on factors such as the status of our equipment.
  6. To use the Internet, you need to apply to and conclude a contract with an Internet service provider compatible with this service in addition to subscribing to this service. For details on usage charges, inquire with the corresponding Internet service provider.
  7. This service uses the PPPoE communications protocol so your PC and other devices need to support the PPPoE function. NTT West distributes PPPoE software (1 license) free of charge to customers who have subscribed.
  8. For the operating systems supported for the PPPoE software (1 license) provided free of charge by NTT West when you subscribe, please see the following.
FLET'S Connection Tool (in Japanese only)
  9. The Optical Network Unit (ADSL modem) provided with this service connects to your PC or other device via 10BASE-T or USB. You are responsible for providing the other devices and products required for a connection.
Required Connection Devices (in Japanese only)
  10. If the communication disconnection process could not be performed properly because your connected device terminated communication abnormally (PC froze, cable was disconnected, power was turned off, etc.), a connection may not be able to be reestablished. Also, if your device terminated communication abnormally and you use multiple sessions and are subscribed to a provider that assigns a static IP address, a connection may not be able to be reestablished or communication may not be performed correctly. In such cases, wait at least 5 minutes and then try connecting again.
  11. If you currently use INS-Net and will use Type 1 (type that shares the subscriber line with the Internet), INS-Net needs to be changed to an Analog line. Also, If you switch to an Analog line, you will no longer be able to use the optional services provided with INS-Net and the communications devices for INS-Net.
  12. If you use services such as remote meter reading (no-ringing communication service), security service, and automatic carrier routing (ACR), contact the service providers in advance because there may be a problem using those services.
  13. Compatibility with ADSL modems and other equipment purchased by customers has been verified only for models specified by NTT West. Also, in cases such as ADSL relocation, FLET'S ADSL may not be able to be used depending on the status of the equipment of the relocation destination. Customers are responsible for the cost of repairing equipment (ADSL modem, splitter, and internal wiring) after purchase.
  14. On extremely rare occasions, you may be able to hear noise caused by the ADSL signal but this phenomenon is typical when ADSL is superimposed on a telephone line and thus does not indicate a failure. The noise you hear will also differ depending on the type of telephone.
  15. If the service affects another line, your FLET'S ADSL subscription may be cancelled.
  16. Please note that service may be temporarily suspended for reasons such as equipment expansion and maintenance work.
  17. The monthly usage charge for the month that service is started or cancelled will be calculated on a per diem basis.

Notes on using FLET'S ISDN

  1. This service is provided on a best effort basis and there is no guarantee that the transmission speed will be constant (the transmission speed may become lower when the network is congested).
  2. To use the Internet, you need to apply to and conclude a contract with an Internet service provider compatible with this service, in addition to subscribing to this service. For details on usage charges, inquire with the corresponding Internet service provider.
  3. This service is for customers who use INS-Net 64, INS-Net 64 Lite, and INS-Net 1500 within the provided service areas.
  4. One subscriber line (one B channel) is provided per subscription.
  5. The transmission mode supported by this system is digital transmission mode (64 kbps).
  6. This service is not available with the main line, additional DID number (option), or i-Number (option).
  7. If you are using the INS-P service, you may not be able to continue using the service if you apply for FLET'S ISDN.
  8. The settings of your device may need to be changed to use this service.
  9. The monthly usage charge for the month that service is started or cancelled will be calculated on a per diem basis.
Macintosh computer users
  1. With a Macintosh computer, you may experience problems connecting to FLET'S ISDN when using Open Transport/PPP.
  2. Even if you experience problems connecting when using Open Transport/PPP, you can use Free PPP, as NTT West has verified that connections can be established when using Free PPP.
    - You can obtain the free communication software Free PPP from Internet sites, CD-ROMs attached to magazines, etc. However, Free PPP cannot be used with some terminal adapters. For details, directly contact the relevant manufacturer.
