Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 367Participation in the "Hiroshima Forest Creation Forum" Forest Conservation Activity November 16, 2019 NTT West Hiroshima Group
On November 16, 2019 (Saturday), about 60 employees and family members of NTT West Hiroshima Group took part in the "Forest of Forum," a forest conservation activity organized by Hiroshima Prefecture Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Bureau.
This is an activity for corporate members of the "Hiroshima Forest Creation Forum" to jointly maintain the forests and walking trails. This year, a total of 134 participants from nine companies, including NTT West Hiroshima Group, took part in the activity.
Blessed with fine weather on the day of the event, participants attended the opening ceremony with the blue sky as the backdrop and the mountains covered by the beautiful autumn foliage.
At the opening ceremony, they received guidance on the work process and precautions to take, followed by engaging in the paving and improvement cutting works at the "Hiroshima Prefecture Tree Planting Center" after putting on helmets and wearing a saw at the waist.
For paving work, participants built a safe pavement to ease walking by carrying heavy logs up the slope and combining their efforts to pound the logs to make them into stairs after leveling out the slope surface.
Work was performed on an unstable slope, but nonetheless the task was accomplished smoothly in about an hour without any injury.
Aiming to promote growth of the planted trees, the improvement cutting work of this activity brightened the slightly dark forest and transformed it into a beautiful environment that allows the trees in the surroundings to thrive further.
After the works, all the participants took a group photo and ended the activity with a smile on their face.
NTT West Hiroshima Group will continue to engage in activities to protect the environment while coordinating and cooperating with the local community.
