“Free Local Wi-Fi” is the NTT West Group’s public Wi-Fi service developed in cooperation with local governments and voluntary sector organizations.
By working with local governments, NTT West hopes to use this service to offer greater convenience to tourists, to provide a reliable means of information-sharing and communication in the event of a disaster, and to improve administrative services and community development.
Stores, offices, and other establishments interested in joining the Free Local Wi-Fi service may apply for the Smart HIKARI Business Wi-Fi (High-End 6 Plan, High-End Plan),
DoSPOT STREET, or DoSPOT Plan 1, 2, or 3 service.Free Local Wi-Fi is not available in some areas.
Free Local Wi-Fi users are welcome to use the service free of charge upon authenticating their connection.
* New subscriptions to NTT MEDIASUPPLY’s DoSPOT Plans 1, 2, and 3 and DoSPOT STREET (separate from DoSPOT STREET services utilizing authentication infrastructure not belonging to NTT MEDIASUPPLY) ended on March 31, 2024. Services themselves will be available until March 31, 2026.
