Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 347Tsu City Shiratsuka Beach Cleaning Volunteer Activity July 13, 2019 NTT West Mie Group

On July 13, 2019 (Saturday), NTT West Mie Group took part in a volunteer cleaning activity along Shiratsuka Beach in Mie Prefecture, Tsu City as part of the "Midori Ippai Project." This activity was organized by Mie Gyoren (Mie Prefecture Federation of Fishery Cooperative Association).
Located inside Ise Bay, Shiratsuka Beach is a sand coast with abundant nature. It is also the breeding site for loggerhead sea turtles, an endangered species.

Mie Group has been participating in this activity every year. This year, a total of more than 300 participants, including about 60 employees, family members and retired employees of Mie Group, took part in the cleaning work.
Prior to the start of the activity, words of appreciation were offered by Mr. Maeba, Mayor of Tsu City, as well as members of Mie Gyoren.

Participants picked up different types of litter that were washed ashore along the beach, including recyclable wastes such as plastic bottles and empty cans, and also other trash such as smartphones and hammers. The entire beach looked amazingly clean at the end of the work.

NTT West Mie Group will continue to contribute to the local communities and conservation of biodiversity by working together with the local government bodies and residents to take part in such volunteer activities.
