Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 339Gifu Midori Ippai Project "7th Consecutive Year! Green Curtains Initiative" May 10 and 17, 2019 NTT West Gifu Group

On May 10, 2019 (Friday) and May 17, 2019 (Friday), NTT West Gifu Group engaged in the seventh year of the initiative to build "green curtains."
This is an activity to plant creepers and seasonal flowers such as bitter gourd and Japanese morning glory in the surrounding areas and inner courtyard of Kano Building and Umegae Building under NTT West Gifu Group.

Not only can creepers that grow into "green curtains" help to create a more pleasant environment inside the office building where temperature tends to rise due to intense heat from the sun in summer, they also contribute to a reduction in power consumption.

Under the hot weather on the day of the event, a total of 55 participants, including employees and family members of Gifu Group, engaged in activities from repairing of racks for the "green curtains" to weeding of the flowerbeds, changing of the soil in the planters and planting of seedlings.

In addition to repairing the racks, participants also cleared up weeds that have grown and planted herbs with a therapeutic effect as well as seasonal flowers such as begonia, periwinkle and salvia. These were carried out smoothly, thanks to advice offered by the experienced employees.

Subsequent tasks that need to be carried out in tandem with the growth of the seedlings include watering and weeding, as well as guiding the creepers toward the poles and nets installed.
As hot weather is expected to continue, much effort will be needed to perform the maintenance work. We will work together to keep track of the growth of the flowers and look forward to seeing them bloom.

NTT West Gifu Group will continue with the building of "green curtains" and contribute to social action programs for achieving energy conservation.
