Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 306"Gifu Midori Ippai Project" - "Nagaragawa Fureai no Mori" Forest Volunteer Activity November 10, 2018 NTT West Gifu Group

On November 10, 2018 (Saturday), a total of 72 participants, including employees and family members of NTT West Gifu Group as well as members of the "Yomoginokai" retiree volunteer group, held a forest volunteer activity to weed undergrowth and clean up the area at "Nagaragawa Fureai no Mori" located at Mitahora of Gifu City.

Panels on the significance of the forest protection activities were also installed in this round of activity, which included a quiz to let the participants understand the importance of forests.

As it had been raining on the previous day, the ground was scattered with wet leaves at the site of the activity, and participants had to perform work on the slippery ground. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant sunny day on the actual day, and participants engaged in the activity while enjoying the autumn leaves that started to change color as well as the scent of the fall season.
Children who participated helped out while struggling with the use of bamboo brooms and rakes which they were not used to, and thanks to the cooperation of all the participants, the beauty of the "Fureai no Mori" forest is now restored.

At the end of the activity, a hands-on session was held to experience "yoseue" (group planting) of seasonal flowers, which has been well received in the past rounds. As with the past, there was great enthusiasm starting from the selection of flowers, and all the co-workers and family members who took part had an enjoyable session.

By taking good care of the flowers, we hope the participants will be able to create an environment that is filled with greenery at their home too.

NTT West Gifu Group will continue to engage actively in efforts to promote such activities that contribute to conservation of the natural environment and for them to take root.
