LINE 363 Participation in "Tree-raising Greenery Festival" Islandwide Public Greening Campaign

On November 9, 2019 (Saturday), NTT West Okinawa Group took part in the FY2019 "Tree-raising Greenery Festival" Islandwide Public Greening Campaign held at "Urasoe Culture Park (Tedako Plaza)" in Okinawa Prefecture, Urasoe City.

Themed "Growing the Tedako Forest to Connect Past, Present and Future," this was hosted by the Okinawa Prefecture Greening Promotion Committee (a public interest incorporated association) and Urasoe City as a commemorative event prior to the "43rd Nationwide Tree-raising Festival" that was scheduled to be held for the first time in Okinawa Prefecture at Ginowan City on December 14 and 15, 2019.
Blessed with fine weather on the day of the event, 53 participants from Okinawa Group, which made up more than 10% of the total number (about 500), took part in the activity under the clear sky and cool autumn breeze.

Using "solid fertilizers" prepared by members of the administration office, participants worked together to engage in tree-raising and replanting activities at the plant beds along the national route in Urasoe Culture Park. Tree-raising is the process of maintaining plants to promote their growth, while replanting is to plant new saplings at vacant spaces where saplings have withered.

We will continue to watch over the growth of the saplings warmly while looking forward to the day when those planted at the plant beds start to spread their luxuriant leaves and branches with colorful blossoms.

NTT West Okinawa Group will continue to engage in activities to promote greening so as to contribute to local community development and hand down the bountiful nature with care into the future.
