Efforts toward Environment Management

NTT West Group took part in the "20th EcoPro 2018 - Environment and Society of the SDGs Era, and to the Future" exhibition that was held from December 6 to 8, 2018.

This was the first joint exhibition between NTT West and NTT East, and we wanted to convey our intention to achieve an affluent society and sustainable development through our new services that are based on the communications technology that we have developed over the years based on the theme of "what we can contribute through 'connecting'."

Under the main theme of "SDGs x Environment x NTT West," NTT West Group exhibited on the "Solution Environment Label," Eco Megane" as well as SDG initiatives including "Our Efforts to Achieve the Green NTT West Strategy and Environment Grand Design Goal and Achievement of the Environment Grand Design - Material Flow," "Our Efforts toward Power Reduction - Introduction of Smart DASH (mini DASH) for Small Machine Rooms," "Development of Environment and Energy Businesses - Eco Houses Using HEMS Hikari BOX+" and "Promotion of Biodiversity Conservation Initiatives - Outline of Midori Ippai Activities."

As an enterprise that helps to address social issues, NTT West Group will continue to make contributions to the SDGs through our business activities as well as by offering a wide variety of information.

I was in charge of our exhibition at EcoPro 2018. While preparing the exhibits, I looked back on the efforts by NTT West Group in environmental contribution.

Ever since the split into NTT East and NTT West, NTT West Group has established the Charter for Global Environment and has been engaging in efforts to contribute to the environment, such as through the "Midori Ippai activities" by our volunteer employees and the environment-friendly ICT services that we offer.

With NTT Group's recent endorsement of the SDGs, there is a growing trend for corporate value to be evaluated from the perspective of ESG.

Going forward, I hope to cultivate a stronger awareness toward environmental contribution and offering information while performing my day-to-day work.
