Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 301Signing Ceremony for Agreement on the "Tottori Forest of Symbiosis" Forest Conservation Activity October 9, 2018 NTT West Tottori Group

On October 9, 2018 (Tuesday), NTT West Tottori Group attended the signing ceremony for the agreement on the "Tottori Forest of Symbiosis" held at the official residence of Tottori Prefectural Governor.
At the ceremony, Mr. Hirai, Governor of Tottori Prefecture, Mr. Haba, Vice Mayor of Tottori City, and Mr. Sugimoto, Manager of NTT West Tottori Branch, signed a tripartite agreement on forest conservation and management for the "Tottori Forest of Symbiosis."

The "Tottori Forest of Symbiosis" is a system that started in 2006 with the prefecture and municipalities providing support to forest conservation activities by the private sector.

At NTT West, we have been engaging actively in the reduction of power consumption to fulfill our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) goals, and have been rolling out initiatives at different regions to help protect the global environment, including tree planting and cleaning activities to conserve forests.

In 2013, our Tottori Branch signed the aforementioned five-year tripartite agreement with Tottori Prefecture and Yazu-cho, and have since been engaging in forest conservation activities. Following the expiration of the said agreement this year, we have signed a new tripartite agreement to engage in carry out conservation activities at the forest in Tottori City, Fukubecho, Yuyama.

[Outline of Activity]

  • (1) Period of agreement: October 9, 2018 to October 8, 2023 (5 years)
  • (2) Venue: Tottori City, Fukubecho, Yuyama (near the entrance to Oasis Tottori Sand Dunes Oasis Plaza)
  • (3) Description of activity: To be held twice a year. To plant resistant black pine trees in the first round of activity (November 17) and carry out weeding and other nurturing activities in the subsequent rounds.
