Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 295Installation of "Green Curtain" Again at NTT Yamaguchi Building May 30, 2018 NTT West Yamaguchi Group
On May 30, 2018 (Wednesday), a total of 17 employees of NTT West Yamaguchi Group planted saplings for the "green curtain" at NTT Yamaguchi Building.
While bitter gourd was planted for the green curtain in the past three years, participants challenged planting morning glory this time.
To add more excitement in conjunction with the "Yamaguchi Yume Flower Expo" to be held at the "Yamaguchi Kirara Expo Memorial Park" in Yamaguchi Prefecture (from September 14 to November 14, 2018), a decision was made to create "flower curtains" instead of "green curtains" using morning glory, a flowering plant.
The species planted this year is the blue morning glory. The color of the blossoms is said to change with time and temperature from blue in the morning to pink and purple in the evening.
Participants worked together to plant them carefully in planters while hoping that they will grow into an impressive flower curtain. Thanks to the daily watering and periodic fertilizing efforts, the morning glory plants grew healthily and covered the windows of the offices in the branch building in no time.
This year, we have also entered the "Green Curtain Contest" organized yearly by Yamaguchi City. We look forward to winning an award for the fourth consecutive year.
NTT West Yamaguchi Group will continue to engage actively in activities to protect the global environment as part of the efforts to reduce CO2 emission and address global warming.
