Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 283Participation in "69th Okinawa Prefecture Tree Planting Festival" Islandwide Public Greening Campaign May 19, 2018 NTT West Okinawa Group
On May 19, 2018 (Saturday), the "69th Okinawa Prefecture Tree Planting Festival" Islandwide Public Greening Campaign was held and participated by a total of about 400 people, including 37 employees of NTT West Okinawa Group and their family members.
A tree planting festival themed "From Ginoza!! Harmony between Water and Greenery" was held at the "Roadside Station Ginoza" in Ginoza Village, which is located at the northern part of Okinawa Prefecture. Besides tree planting, this festival also aims at getting the participants to think about the natural environment so as to spread the movement to increase greenery.
Under the clear blue sky and strong heat with a temperature that almost exceeded 30ﾂｺC, participants worked up a good sweat to engage in the planting of about 1000 saplings (croton and ixora-coccinea) prepared by the secretariat together with many elementary and junior high school students.
We look forward to seeing "Roadside Station Ginoza" transform into an area full of greenery with the saplings planted by the participants growing up healthily and spreading their leaves and branches.
NTT West Okinawa Group will continue to engage actively in efforts to promote community-based greening activities.
