Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 252Gifu Midori Ippai Project - Forest Volunteer Activity at "Nagaragawa Fureai no Mori" November 11, 2017 NTT West Gifu Group
On November 11, 2017 (Saturday), NTT West Gifu Group held a forest volunteer activity to weed undergrowth and clean up the area at "Nagaragawa Fureai no Mori" located at Mitahora of Gifu City.
A total of 64 participants from NTT West Gifu Group, including employees, family members and members of the "Yomoginokai" retired employees group, took part in the event.
As it had been raining continuously till early dawn on the day of the event, the ground was scattered with wet leaves at the site of the activity, and participants had to perform work on the slippery ground. Besides the adults who were working hard using the grass cutters, children who participated also put in effort to help out while they struggled with using bamboo brooms and rakes which they were not used to.
Thanks to everyone's earnest efforts, the beauty of the "Fureai no Mori" forest is now restored with large amounts of negative ions.
At the end of the activity, a hands-on session was held to experience "yoseue" (group planting) of seasonal flowers, which was well received by the previous participants. Many of them were first-timers who commented happily that they would like to participate again the next time.
Given this valuable opportunity in a natural environment that allowed participants to bring home and take care of the plants they planted at the "yoseue" activity, we hope they will be able to feel the joy of a green environment at home too and appreciate the importance of nature in their daily life.
NTT West Gifu Group will continue to engage actively in efforts to promote environmental conservation activities and for them to take root.
