Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 237Help Make Our "Satoumi" Clean! June 18, 2017 NTT West Toyama Group
On June 18, 2017 (Sunday), a total of 51 participants including employees and family members of NTT West Toyama Group took part in the "Clean Campaign in Rokudoji Beach" cleaning activity (organized by FM Toyama) held in Imizu City of Toyama Prefecture.
This activity is part of the "Cosmo Earth Conscious Act Clean Campaign" that was launched jointly by Japan FM Network Association (JFN) and Cosmos Oil and held yearly with the aim to promote protection and conservation of the global environment.
Rokudoji Beach is located between the river mouth of Koyabegawa and Shogawa, thus different kinds of trash, such as plastic bottles, empty cans and plastic containers, are washed ashore from these two rivers. Scattered garbage is also regarded as the most serious issue faced by the coasts within the prefecture.
Cleaning was carried out for about 1.5 hours from 9 a.m., where participants helped to remove a large amount of trash scattered on the beach, making the coast clean again.
At the end of the cleaning activity, a gelato tasting event using one's own spoon to reduce wastes was held. Made from local ingredients, the sweet gelato helped to refresh the participants after the hard work.
NTT West Toyama Group will continue to engage in community-based efforts to help protect the natural environment.
