Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 162"Tottori Forest of Symbiosis" Forest Conservation Activity May 8, 2016 NTT West Tottori Group
On May 8, 2016 (Sunday), NTT West Tottori Group held the "Tottori Forest of Symbiosis" forest conservation activity as part of the "Midori Ippai Project." This is the sixth round of the "Tottori Forest of Symbiosis" forest conservation activity which Tottori Group engaged in based on an agreement with Tottori City that was concluded in 2013.
The weather was clear on the day of the event, with a total number of 55 participants, including Branch Manager Mr. Takasu, from Tottori Group. Thinning activity was conducted at the bamboo grove owned by Tahoji Temple (Yazu-gun, Yazu-cho, Funaokatono).
Participants engaged in tasks such as cutting down unwanted bamboos followed by transporting large bamboo plants by lifting them with a rope as well as digging bamboo shoots under the guidance of Yazu Central Forest Owners' Cooperative.
At the end of the activity, participants has an enjoyable interaction session with the local community while taking part in a workshop to make planters and single-flower vases from bamboos and enjoying food prepared by members of the local women's association.
