Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 143Pine Forest Conservation Activity at Fukui Beach of Itoshima City October 31, 2015 NTT West Fukuoka Group
On October 31 (Saturday), a total of 124 employees and family members participated in the fourth pine forest conservation activity held as part of the "Midori Ippai Project" at Fukui Beach located at Nijo-Fukui of Itoshima City in Fukuoka Prefecture.
Although it was cloudy and chilly on the day of the event with strong wind blowing from the sea, the turnout was a record high. As with the previous event, grass-cutting activity was held to preserve the beautiful pine forest with support from "Satohama-tunagi-tai," a local network that engages in pine forest conservation activities including branch picking and pine-needle raking to prevent damage by pine weevils.
Also, in commemoration of NTT West Fukuoka Group's registration to the Adopt Program of Itoshima City, the City created and installed a company signboard, and held an unveiling ceremony in conjunction with the event.
At the closing ceremony after completing the tasks, snacks were presented as gifts to the participating children as gifts, and we were glad to see their delighted smiles.
It is important to ensure that this is not an ephemeral effort, and to continue the endeavor in the long term. NTT West Fukuoka Group will continue to promote the "Midori Ippai Project" through our concerted effort while deepening our cooperative relationship with the local government bodies.
