Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 140"Gifu Midori Ippai Project" Yoseue (Group Planting) Activity November 14, 2015 NTT West Gifu Group
On November 14, 2015 (Saturday), NTT West Gifu Group held a forest volunteer activity to plant trees and weed undergrowth at "Nagaragawa Fureai no Mori" located at Mitabora of Gifu City.
The weather was rainy on the day the event was held.
Participants put on their raincoat and engaged in weeding undergrowth and gathering fallen leaves along the road in the rain, followed by replanting the saplings that have withered after they were planted in June this year.
A participant who took part with his children commented with a smile that he looked forward to the growth of both the saplings and his children.
At the end of the activity, the participants joined in a hands-on session to experience "yoseue" (group planting) of seasonal flowers.
It was a relaxing moment for the participants, who enjoyed the process from choosing flowers to arranging them.
We hope the participants will learn to take good care of flowers and transform their homes into a green environment.
All participants of the activity were presented with pin badges that are printed with the character of the Midori Ippai Project.
The number of stars on the badge increases as participants move up the ranking according to the number of times they have participated in the event. Those who took part for the first time is given a green badge with one star, while a second-timer will receive a silver badge with two stars to add to the green badge they have received at the first participation.
Some participants pinned the badges to their hats, so we believe the badges have helped to boost their motivation to take part in the event.
Although the participants had to put on rain gear to work in the drizzling rain, the activity nonetheless ended smoothly with the vibrant green restored at "Nagaragawa Fureai no Mori."
