Reduction of Charges for Local Phone Calls |
Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT WEST) today submitted notification to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications concerning reductions in the rates charged for local phone calls. 1. Rate reductions and implementation dates The current rate of 10 yen per 3 minutes for local phone calls (daytime and nighttime) will be reduced to 8.8 yen per 3 minutes effective May 1, 2001. Charges for subscriber lines and ISDN  Note: For other call distance categories, no modifications are planned to the current 10 yen unit charge or the number of seconds counted per incremental surcharge. 2. Total value of rate reduction (per annum) NTT West anticipates that the rate reduction will signify an annual total of 45 billion yen. |
