The importance of confirmation of safety in natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoons, and torrential downpours is now seen in a new light.
Under these circumstances, NTT WEST provided, in addition to the “disaster emergency message dial (171)” (a telephone service) by telephone (voice), the “disaster broadband message board (web171)” as a means of inquiring after the safety of people in disaster-stricken areas via the Internet. Based on the opinions of those who used the above services in the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred in March 2011, NTT WEST has been providing a new service, the “disaster emergency message board” that includes new functions such as compatibility with smart phone and notification of message registration from August 30, 2012 onward.
Please access https://www.web171.jp/ and use the service.
